Nate came to Brooklyn every once in a while just to get away from everything. Most of his friends never came down here so it was a good place to get away. Nobody to bump into. He ran a hand through his hair as he looked around. He decided to go stop by the café for a quick drink. He hadn't been there ever since he and Vanessa stopped dating.

Nate walked in and looked around. He knew Vanessa's shift was over but it never hurt to check. It would have been nice to talk to her again but he wasn't sure how he was suppose to approach her. He walked in and found a booth in the back where he hoped he wouldn't be spotted. He spotted a newspaper nearby and he opened it up hoping for something interesting. Maybe real news instead of all the gossip he had been hearing lately.

Seeing his personal life splattered all of gossip girls page was not something he liked to see. But apparently the rest of the world did, and they were always checking up on what was going on. Sure she never used their full names but it was obvious who she was talking about. He tried not to pay attention to it but it was hard when everybody at school was always talking about it.

He ordered a smoothie which he hadn't had in a while. Why not, he may as well. As he waited his eyes never left the news paper. The doors would open and close ever once in a while but he never noticed. Concentrating on the news before him was getting pretty hard. He could only think about his encounter with Blair at the bar and how drunk he had gotten. He sighed it was too late to change what had happened but maybe things would turn for the better.
